Back to Fitji

Privacy, plain and simple

Your data should move with care.

Fitji turns movement into a companion adventure. This policy explains what information we use to make that happen, what we do not do with it, and the choices you have.

Effective July 13, 2026 Last updated July 13, 2026

The short version

Movement powers the experience, not an ad profile.

Fitji uses the information needed to run the app, grow your companion, improve the beta, and keep things working. We do not sell your personal information or health and fitness data, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

You choose the connection.

Health access is permission-based and can be changed in your device settings.

Your steps stay on task.

Movement data supports progress, missions, hatching, and features you choose to use.

No data side quest.

We do not sell personal data or build cross-app advertising profiles.

01

Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the Fitji mobile app, our closed beta, getfitji.com, and support conversations related to those services (together, the “Services”). Fitji is created and operated by DJ and Han Jin. In this policy, “Fitji,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the people operating the Services.

Apple, Google, TestFlight, Google Play, iOS Health, and Health Connect operate under their own privacy policies when you use their services or change permissions through them.

02

Information we collect

The information Fitji handles depends on which features you use.

Information you provide

  • Account and profile details: information such as your email address, display name, companion name, preferences, and sign-in identifiers.
  • Beta feedback and support: votes, survey answers, feature requests, bug reports, messages, and any screenshots or details you choose to send.
  • Communications: your contact details and the contents of messages when you ask us for help or make a privacy request.

Movement and wellness information

If you connect iOS Health or Health Connect, Fitji requests access to activity information used by enabled features. This may include step count, distance, active minutes, and, when a feature calls for it, workout or sleep summaries. Fitji uses this information to show progress, complete missions, unlock play, and help eggs hatch through movement.

A useful boundary:

Fitji does not use health and fitness information for advertising, data-broker profiles, or decisions about employment, insurance, credit, or eligibility. Fitji does not require precise GPS location to sync the activity information described above.

You decide whether to connect a health source. Your device shows the categories Fitji requests, and you can deny or revoke access at any time. Features that depend on movement data may not work without that access.

App activity and game progress

  • Mission progress, streaks, goals, achievements, rewards, inventory, companion state, and feature interactions.
  • Settings such as notification choices, connected health source, and beta preferences.
  • Basic diagnostics such as app version, device and operating-system type, crash details, performance information, and error logs.

Website information

getfitji.com uses Umami to understand aggregate site activity. This can include pages viewed, button clicks, referring page, browser and device type, and an approximate region derived from network information. The site does not use advertising cookies or create a cross-site advertising profile. Our hosting and security providers may also process standard request information, such as IP address and request time, to deliver and protect the site.

Information from other services

We may receive information from a connected health source, sign-in provider, beta distribution platform, app store, analytics or crash-reporting provider, or support tool. What we receive depends on your settings and the provider's rules.

03

How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide and personalize Fitji, including movement progress, missions, hatching, companions, rewards, and game state;
  • create and maintain accounts, remember settings, and sync progress;
  • operate the closed beta, review feedback, fix bugs, and decide what to improve next;
  • send service messages and notifications you request, and respond to support or privacy questions;
  • measure reliability and understand how the app and website are used;
  • detect abuse, protect the Services, enforce our terms, and comply with law; and
  • create aggregated or de-identified insights that do not reasonably identify you.

Where local law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the Services you request, your consent (including for connected health data and optional notifications), our legitimate interests in operating and improving Fitji, and compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent at any time, but that does not affect earlier processing.

04

How we share information

We share information only in the situations described below.

  • Service providers: companies that help with hosting, storage, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, email, support, security, and beta delivery. They may use information only to provide services to us under appropriate restrictions.
  • At your direction: when you connect another service, submit content for sharing, or otherwise ask us to disclose information.
  • Legal and safety reasons: when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect people or the Services, investigate abuse, or establish and defend legal claims.
  • Business changes: as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. We would require the recipient to handle personal information consistently with this policy and applicable law.
  • Aggregated or de-identified information: information that does not reasonably identify you, such as overall beta trends.
Fitji does not sell personal information.

We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use health and fitness information for targeted advertising.

05

Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy. The period depends on the type of information, whether your account is active, the needs of the beta, legal and safety requirements, and whether information remains in a limited backup cycle. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that no longer reasonably identifies you.

Closed betas can be a little egg-shaped. Test data, progress, or accounts may be reset as features change. A beta reset is separate from our obligation to handle retained personal information under this policy.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No storage or transmission method is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. Please use a unique password where Fitji offers password-based sign-in, keep your device secure, and contact us if something looks wrong.

06

Your choices and rights

Controls available to everyone

  • Health permissions: review or revoke Fitji's access in iOS Health, Health Connect, or your device settings.
  • Notifications: change notification settings in Fitji or your device settings.
  • Profile and feedback: update available profile details in the app and choose what you include in feedback or support messages.
  • Account and data requests: ask to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information by contacting us.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, receive a portable copy, appeal our response, or complain to a data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may use an authorized agent where local law allows. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Some information may be exempt from a request, or may need to be kept for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or to complete a transaction you requested. If we cannot fulfill all or part of a request, we will explain why when the law requires it.

Fitji does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because there is no consistent industry standard for them. Where legally required and technically supported, we honor applicable opt-out preference signals. Because we do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no separate advertising sale to opt out of.

07

Children's privacy

Fitji is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where required by local law, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

08

International use

Fitji and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. When required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as contractual protections, and provide additional information on request.

09

Changes to this policy

Fitji is in closed beta, so the app will change and this policy may change with it. We will update the date at the top and provide additional notice in the app or through another appropriate channel when a change is material. If local law requires consent for a new use, we will ask before that use begins.
