A virtual companion walking app with a real first milestone.
Fitji reads movement already recorded by Apple HealthKit or Health Connect. Reach 5,000 steps or 30 active minutes, and the egg becomes ready to hatch. It never cracks open in the background: it waits until you return and tap it.
No special workout screen has to stay open.
Steps or active minutes can finish incubation.
The egg waits for your tap. Nothing is missed.
What movement does Fitji read?
On iPhone, Fitji reads activity through Apple HealthKit. On Android, it uses Health Connect. The app can see steps, distance, heart rate, sleep sessions, and typed workout sessions after you grant permission. You do not manually enter a walk or keep Fitji open while moving.
For the egg, the useful inputs are steps and time spent at an elevated heart rate. That gives an ordinary walk one route to the hatch and a workout another. The two routes are alternatives, not homework to complete together.
Fitji does not ask for a weigh-in, a calorie target, or a meal log before the game begins. Movement is the input; your body is not graded.
When is the Fitji egg ready?
The current closed beta marks the egg ready after 5,000 steps or 30 active minutes, whichever happens first. Progress fills as new activity syncs from your phone.
Those thresholds are part of beta balancing and may change as players test them. The important part of the loop will not: movement collected by the phone becomes visible progress toward a companion.
The hatch is a moment, not a deadline.
Once incubation reaches 100%, the egg stays ready. It does not hatch during a meeting, while the phone is in a pocket, or because midnight arrived. Open Fitji when you want the moment, tap Hatch now, and meet the companion inside.
That pause is deliberate. The walk earns the hatch, but the player should get to see it.
After the egg, movement becomes care.
Hatching is the first conversion from real movement into game progress. Afterward, steps help fill the Bag and move Journey forward, workouts build the relationship with your companion, and sleep can add a next-day experience boost.
The companion can grow and change with your activity, but it cannot die. A missed day pauses momentum instead of undoing the walk that hatched it.
