No guilt machine

What happens in Fitji when you miss a day?

Your progress pauses. Your companion stays. Nothing dies, disappears, or sends an invoice for yesterday’s steps.

From the Fitji team. Published August 7, 2026.

The short version

A missed day costs momentum, not your companion.

Fitji does not punish absence by killing, sickening, or removing a virtual companion. Activity stops adding new progress until you move again. Anything already earned stays earned.

No companion death.

Your companion cannot die or be taken away.

No lost collection.

Items and milestones you earned remain yours.

No recovery debt.

Move again and the loop simply resumes.

01

Your companion is still there.

Fitji treats the companion as a reason to return, not collateral held against a step goal. Missing a day cannot make it die, become permanently sick, or vanish. The relationship and evolution progress already built remain in place.

Mood is shown with words rather than a decaying percentage. It can reflect recent care and activity, but it is context for the next small action, not a countdown to disaster.

Home explains Resilience, Streak, Mood, and Bond without turning the companion into a daily emergency.
02

What happens to a streak and earned items?

A streak can end when an active day is missed. Its rewards are cosmetic milestones: reach 5, 10, or 30 consecutive active days and unlock something for the companion to wear. Breaking the streak does not repossess anything already unlocked.

The Bag, clothing, toys, Journal discoveries, and relationship progress do not reset because the calendar changed. Yesterday’s work remains part of the companion’s history.

03

Resilience is a rolling week, not a permanent grade.

Fitji also summarizes consistency as a Resilience tier derived from active days in the last seven. A quieter week can lower the tier; new active days naturally replace older inactive ones as the window moves forward.

That makes recovery ordinary. There is no giant lifetime number to repair and no “start over” button. The week changes because the week changed.

04

What happens when you come back?

Fitji reads the new movement your phone recorded and starts adding progress again. Steps can fill the Bag and move Journey forward. Workouts can build Bond. A qualifying night of sleep can earn the next day’s experience boost.

No catch-up workout is required. There is no missed-day fee hiding behind a friendly animation. The next walk is simply the next walk.

The rule we are protecting

A fitness companion should make returning easier than avoiding the app. If a mechanic makes a rough week feel irreversible, it is working against that rule.
